4th Cavalry Company K members are a group of men and women in Oklahoma who are interested in re-creating the experiences of the 4th U.S. Cavalry from the dates of 1875 to 1900 within the State of Oklahoma and Oklahoma Territory at the time. Horses and riders accurately portray the U.S. Cavalry of those days and their uniforms, equipment, tack and weapons are of very accurate specifications so they can best educate the public to this exciting period of our history.
They participate in several exhibitions in our state and events in surrounding states. They are based out of Historic Old Fort Reno near El Reno, Oklahoma. The 4th is called on for parades and programs over the state and also for several events with the Oklahoma State History Center and Historical Society. They perform and participate at Fort Reno, Fort Supply, Fort Sill and at Pawnee for the Pawnee Bill Wild West Show annually. They have also been in several movies which needed U.S. Cavalry i.e. Far & Away, Buffalo Gals, Buffalo Soldiers, Crazy Horse, Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders, Into the West, The Post Man, The Patriot, as well as several documentaries.
